I Love Apple Pie...

First Kelly Tilghman.

Now This.
I have the sinking feeling that examples of a noose like the one above on display on the cover of Golfweek speaks volumes.

It is a barometer.

It measures where black people rate in the cult of public conscience. No one has to say nigger, jigaboo sambo or anything else anymore. We have been beaten into submission. To the point where we use the words with love . But of course we take the 'r' out of nigger and replace the e with an 'a'.

Which confines the very limited appropriate usage to the black community. Unless,of course you have a familiarity with the ever changing 'black vernacular' and you can convincingly slip it in without catching a mouthshot.

Or black eye.

Most white people I know that I have heard use the term nigger towards a black person in a non-negative(is that possible?) way are actually testing their own status. I have had several aqcuaintances or would-be friends that have thrown in the n-bomb to see where I was at.

For a white person to able to say 'nigga' safely in room full of brothas means he has already proven his love for all things black. Or he is simply checking if his ghetto pass can be revoked.

It can.

It's all about context.

Back to Golfweek.

The whole cover with the noose should have been the golf community's apology for the embarassing insensitive remarks. They could have spun it in such an effective way. They got the attention with the provocative symbol on the cover, all they had to do was follow up with some substance. Instead they printed the usual fluff that is in demand nowadays. Golfweek blew a perfect opportunity to start a cathartic discussion on race and hatred within the anglocized golf community.

Instead they minimize or overlook the very real possibility of offending a huge segment of society. Many with family members still alive that have shared stories and witnessed, first hand accounts that define the bloody, sadistic history of America in 'Tha good ol days'.
As you can see. They didn't always use a noose.

Kelly knew what she said was wrong. She also knows about five black people watch the Golf Channel regularly. I also understand that she is a college grad from the south. That is exactly why I am not buying her bullshit story about not knowing. She forgot she was on-air. She got to relaxed and waxed poetic to get a laugh just like she does in the country club to endear herself with the stately gentlemen puffing cigars and oogling in her company.

But forget Kelly she is already old news.

Somebody needs to ask the editor.

How on Earth did you come up with this?
Can't wriggle free?

How do they do it?

The same way he comes up with stuff

Golfweek claimed they wanted to educate. I can just see the editorial board having a spirited discussion over the subject.

Sometimes the best way to get rid of a boss you don't like is to co-sign their idiotic decisions. Make sure there is no official record of your agreement.

And Voila!!!
Now you can have the job.

The most disturbing aspect of this particular set of events is how many Americans black and white do not have a firm grasp on our history. I have heard so many insensitive and ignorant responses to the suspension of Kelly Tilghman and the firing of the Golfweek editor.

I am convinced no one has a monopoly on stupidity it is equally distributed among all races genders and orientations.

Maybe it's indifference?

Or

Do I live in a society of sociopaths?

I do not expect anyone to apologize or make excuses for the tragic history we share. But I do expect a little reverence- respect.

Why is he a villian?

He is harmless. Besides, if he didn't speak up no one would.

I don't know.
I just don't know.

This is one damn fine post. When I saw the story about the Golfweek cover, my instant reaction was "what idiots!!!" But you've managed to introduce a new notion, one more insidious and treacherous, but completely plausible in this context. What if the golfweek editor was set up by an editorial board that really wanted to make a racist statement by placing a noose on the cover.

"Great idea, Dave (Seanor). This will really driver readership."

As for the "beaten into submission" part, I don't know about that man. Because while it may seem like there's a resurgence of overt racism in this country, if you ask me, these are the acts of desperate people who have nothing more than the myth of white superiority. While I don't see the Golfweek cover as a blessing in disguise, it did make me smile to hear a few white guys call this an embarrassment.

Slappy- Tawana Brawly claimed to be raped by cops. Not IRA.
I'll skip all the details. You got into the story of Sharptons inciteful rhetoric while protesting.
Our President is responsible for way more death. Te measure of life is not negotiable.
Just because you can't see it or read about it. Does not mean it isn't happening. There are way more people dying, right now, because of yours and my tax dollars and you are concerned about someone with a chwemical imbalance acting on Al Sharpton's indirect command.
Yes, Sharpton is harmless your ideology isn't.

With respect to one of the chief points in your blog post, it's clear once again, that an insignificant transgression by a white person is many times more disturbing to blacks than the outrageous conduct of blacks themselves.

I play golf. I've played all my life. But I don't watch golf on TV and I don't read golf publications. Until the recent flap, I'd never heard of Kelly Tilghman, though it is possible I am acquainted with one of her relatives. She appears to be good looking.

On the other hand, I've been to Nation of Islam rallies and have witnessed Louis Farrakhan speak. The rally on the one-year anniversary of the Million Man March was most memorable.

Farrakhan ranted about Jews creating AIDS to kill blacks, about abortion as a white plot to kill blacks, about current plots in the US government to kill blacks. A non-stop festival of anti-white hate.

Meanwhile, the Fruit of Islam appear every few months peddling The Final Call, the NOI "newspaper". Usually I meet the vendors on subway platforms where they always show surprise when I ask for a copy -- they never directly attempt to sell it to me.

One of the paper's features is its advertising, which includes ads for the library of anti-white hate materials available in print or video form.

Then there is Elijah Muhammad's famous book, "Message to the Black Man."

Despite Farrakhan's non-stop commercial venture to SELL anti-white hate to blacks, whites don't care.

In NY City we have city councilman Charles Barron, who is well known for telling reporters he hates whites, especially Jews. He is also well known for demanding that the NY City public school system TEACH ebonics.

We were unfortunate enough to have Sonny Carson living in the city. Fortunately, he died about two years ago. But he did his best to spread anti-white hate.

Meanwhile, black-themed radio talk shows in NY City include shows that are anti-white. Both show hosts and callers spew their anti-white nonsense. Imus was a civil rights worker in comparison.

The point here is this: whites generally ignore black foolishness unless it reaches criminal levels.

You should check in with Larry Elders.

dbd,

What white supremacist rallies do you refer to?

For years I've wanted to attend one of these gatherings to see for myself what goes on. But so far, no one has invited me.

HOwever, I have family in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, where white supremacists once had a benefactor. But the benefactor -- a guy named Butler -- found himself in trouble when one of the idiot white supremacists shot and wounded two whites passing by Butler's ranch.

Morris Dees and the Southern Poverty Law Center got involved and sued Butler, winning a judgment that forced Butler to lose his ranch. Then he died.

As for the shooting you referred to, well, the mentally ill shooter, operating independently, wanted to kill blacks, asians and Jews. He did kill Byrdsong, who was not a Northwestern basketball coach at the time of his death. He was an insurance agent. More importantly, the shooter was randomly shooting beople who fell into the racial or ethnic groups he was after. The ex-coach was shot because he was black. Not because he was a black college coach.

Meanwhile, Sharpton targeted Freddy at Freddy's Fashion Mart because Freddy was white and Jewish and operating a successful business in Harlem. Sharpton successfully encouraged a mentally ill person to commit a large number of crimes.

Meanwhile, the white nut who headed the church that inspired the white killer who shot the ex-coach was prosecuted and the church is history.

On the other hand, Louis Farrakhan and the NOI are still with us, despite years of murder within the organization and years of murders committed by NOI members.

You are right Slappy Loius Farrakhan, George Bush, and Blackwater are all still operating. Are hung about their continued existence or is it their ethinicity?
Tim McVey was inspired.
he killed a lot more than Jewish shop owners in Harlem.
Where you one of the people that immediately supected Arabs.
I'll answer for you.
Yes you were.
Go back to the drawing board.
We can go back and forth on this one. Feel free to add on or clarify any points I have already made. Dancy's Corner allows redundancy.
I am glad you are learning something here.
Come back.

dbd,

Tim McVeigh and possibly two or three co-conspirators, operated independently. They were not carrying out the desires of a cult leader.

The investigation of his activities showed he received virtually no assistance from other people with similar viewpoints.

He showed obvious signs of paranoid schizophrenia, by the way. And he was executed with overwhelming public approval.

Meanwhile, he believed his bomb would kill government agents who worked in the Murrah building. I don't know if he realized he would kill children and daycare workers too.

As for me, I recall exactly where I was and what I thought when I learned about the explosion. I had no immediate ideas for perpetrators. However, that period was a time when white supremacists and militia groups were making news.

However, I considered the following when making my mental list of likely suspects.

In 1992, Randy Weaver, a white separatist in Idaho, made news at Ruby Ridge. Militias became newsworthy.

Moreover, most of the militia groups exist in the central section of the country.

So, in short, since the US was focused on militia groups, I thought one those groups might have had a role.

And because the 1993 muslim bombing of the World Trade Center had occurred before McVeigh's bombing of the Murrah building, I absolutely considered the possibility that muslim terrorists were involved.

I was well aware of the "intifada" underway in Israel at the time of the Oklahoma bombing. There were plenty of muslim suicide bombers killing Jews around that time. Meanwhile, one of the first suicide bombing attacks committed by hezbollah hit the Marine Corps barracks in Beirut in 1983, killing 241 Marines. The bombers drove into the barracks area in a truck. I considered these facts when I learned about Oklahoma.

The Oklahoma City bombing was obviously not the work of the Unabomer and it wasn't the work of college radicals from the 1960s.

The bombing was obviously not committed by a black group and it was not committed by a musical group.

Meanwhile, Sharpton was attempting to destroy Freddy, a legitimate local businessman who employed black and hispanic workers. That makes Sharpton a vile character.

Of course Farrakhan is far worse.

I have no idea why you mentioned Rarrakhan in the same sentence with Bush and Blackwater.
